Parent/Carer Forum

Walsall FACE (Families And Carers Empowered)

What is Walsall FACE?

A parent/carer forum: - a group of parents and carers of children & young people, aged 0 -25 years with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) working to improve services for families of children with SEND.

They are a key part of the Children & Families Act 2014 which embraces "co-production" (parents/carers working as equal partners alongside local authorities, education, health and other services).

What does Walsall FACE do?

  • Consult with parents/carers on local and national issues relating to SEND
  • Seek parents/carers views ensuring they know what is important to you
  • Inform, influence and help develop services
  • Represent the views of parents/carers (although they don't advocate for individual families)

They also run termly parent/carer forum meetings at The Crossing at St. Pauls, Darwall Street, Walsall. These events are run in conjunction with Walsall Carer's Centre.

To find out the date of the next parent/carer forum contact Walsall Carer's Centre on 01922 610810
